History, Science, and other Favorite Homeschool Resources!

In honor of the September back to school season here in the states. Here are some of our favorite resources that we are using currently! We use books as the main curriculum in our homeschool! The History and science encyclopedias from Usborne are great spines to use for history. Then from there, you can supplement with more library books and resources if something really is interesting or just work through them in order!
We are absolutely loving the new History Smashers series by Kate Messner! Well balanced, progressive, and best of all interesting. The boys beg me to read it!
I am really committed to studying history from other people's perspectives and underrepresented groups. We are loving Stamped which is aimed at tween/teens (the audiobook is also great!) and of course the classic The Young People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.
Sing a Song of Seasons has a nature poem for every day and is beautifully illustrated! Perfect for your morning basket or daily read-aloud!
If you like nature journaling you will love Keeping a Nature Journal- lots of lovely examples, ideas, and instruction!
My 10.5-year-old loved Philosophy for Kids!
